Race Against the Tide
Welcome to “Race Against Tide,” where we dive into the rising challenges of flooding in South Florida. From rising sea levels to aging infrastructure, we’re on a mission to understand what’s at stake — and how we can fight back against the tide.
#1: Sea Level Solutions Against the Tide
Dr. Tiffany Troxler is an Associate Professor in the department of Earth and Environment and the Director of Science in the Sea Level Solutions Center in the Institute of Environment at Florida International University. Troxler’s work spans across the Everglades and Miami’s urban environment, researching how sea level rise and flooding are reshaping both natural ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
#2: Dance Against the Tide
Dale Andree, founder and artistic director of National Water Dance and Nicole Crooks, community organizer and co-creator of Walk Through Our Neighborhood explore how artists and advocates are using movement to inspire action and connection in the face of our changing environment.
